Days Since CPAC Storm.
Hello whoever is viewing this! This is a website for the @DaysCPACTC account on Twitter.
We started operations on November 13 2024, about 73 days after Hone moved into the Western Pacific.
How the account works:
- Counts down the days since the last North East Pacific storm between 140ºW and 180º.
- Literally nothing else, that's it. Except...
Criteria for the days to be reset to 0:
- System must not be an already named storm crossing over from east of 140ºW or west of 180º.
- If a storm is named in the Central Pacific area and it crosses over 140ºW or 180º, it will start counting down the dates again. If it crosses back into the CPAC area, it will not reset back to 0, as this is about when the last storm was named in the CPAC.
- After a storm is named, the clock will stay at 0 until the storm either becomes extratropical, a trough, a remnant low, or leaves the Central Pacific area.
- If a depression is active, but was not named by the CPHC in any part of its life, the clock will stay the same, unless the storm is named.
